blog reflection

today I created a blog post describing my two stencils (colour and black and white version)
what went well was that the pictures uploaded successfully and without problems
what went wrong was that the black and white stencil was small and became pixelated
tomorrow i need to start cutting out my stencil

My design is based on the free hugs campaign
this wasn't part of my original campaign idea but i decided i preferred this one.

this is the black and white stencil template of my design

A campaign that would improve the quality of my life would be to improve the public transport service as I think that the current service is confusing and unreliable. I think this would benefit the target age group (16-19 year olds) as they use the service almost daily. It would improve my life as me and my friends always get confused by busses and sometimes get on the wrong bus.

A campaign that would improve the life of others would be to stop racism as it’s a big problem nowadays. I think this would have an impact in the target age group as it’s a big problem in this generation and we could stop it.

A campaign that would make people smile would be to bring back the 90’s as it was one of the greatest cheesiest decades ever. It would be useful because everyone would be happy because life would be simpler. It would benefit the target age group because they grew up in the 90’era so can relate to the campaign.

Stencil evaluation

my idea is taken from another t-shirt design.
i like the simplicity of the design.
the H and O in who are blurred because the original design had the ghostbusters logo and i decided that that it would be to difficult to cut out the stencil.

"Banksy previously believed to be one Robert or Robin Banks and born in 1974/5 in Yate, Bristol.
He doesn't do interviews very often but was interviewed in 2003 by Simon Hattenstone, a reporter for the Guardian newspaper. He described banksy as looking like a "cross between Jimmy Nail and Mike Skinner of the Streets" and turning up wearing scruffy casual jeans and t-shirt, sporting a silver tooth, silver chain and silver earring.

Banksy started doing graffiti when he was 14 years old but admits "I was quite crap with a spray can, so I started cutting out stencils instead." He has come a long way since spraying his tag on the walls of bristol. He changed his stomping ground to Shoreditch in london where you will find lots of his work on display, to holding exhibitions in Los Angeles."

my design is using words the from theme song for the gohstbusters movie
it was inspired by a friend of mines t-shirt i think it would be successful at it would target both sexes my shirt connotes the black with the white as it makes the writing stand out also the orange stands out as its the only colour on the shirt it addresses my target audience because the age group would have grown up with ghostbusters and recognize the logo.

my designs are similar except i chose not to have a ghost on my stencil.

Battlefront: Aimee Nathan - Da Koffee Kup Krew from Battlefronters on Vimeo.

the video i chose was called the "Da Koffee Kup Krew" it was trying to promote anti-littering and i think it was successful in that. I think it is a clever video because its showing the coffee cups being bad to the environment for example, littering and leaving lights on and it gives you different messages as the video goes on. i think the use of comedy in this worked well and the video wouldn't have worked as well without it.
